            The "Camera Pointing System" jointly developed by the research team of PolyU's Prof. Yung Kai-leung and experts at the China Academy of Space Technology was recently showcased at the "Exhibition on China's Lunar Exploration Programme". Being the first Hong Kong made instrument deployed in the nation's lunar exploration programme, this sophisticated space tool can control the camera used to capture images of the moon's surface and movement of the lunar rover.

            Presented by the Home Affairs Bureau of HKSAR Government and the China National Space Administration, the exhibition featured some 20 precious replicas, models and interactive exhibits to introduce the advancement and achievements of the China's lunar exploration programme. The "Camera Pointing System" installed in Chang'e-3 lunar lander was one of the highlights in the exhibition.
